Matheus Nunes is refusing to train with Wolves in an attempt to force a move to Manchester City, according to reports.
City’s initial offer of £47m was rejected by Wolves, with the Midlands club sticking to their £60m estimate. Nunes let his training know that he wanted to leave the club and The Telegraph And The Athletic report that he did not train on Sunday or Monday.
The 25-year-old midfielder will face disciplinary action for his absence but Wolves will reinstate him to Gary O’Neil’s squad after the transfer window closes if a transfer does not materialise.
City are confident they have their man, partly because Nunes has made it clear to their bosses that he wants to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
Now it’s up to the Premier League champions to make an offer Wolves can’t refuse.
