Another big twist in this deadline day ! Everything seemed complete for the transfer of Lamine Camara to Chelsea. The Blues had actually reached an agreement with AS Monaco earlier in the evening, for an amount exceeding 50 million euros. The player had already given his agreement to the Blues, very tempted by the challenge proposed by the Londoners.
But the Monegasques finally closed the door, when everything was ready for the player to sign his 6-year contract with the residents of Stamford Bridge. The decision-makers at AS Monaco thus put an end to the matter, canceling the transfer of the Senegalese international.
Chelsea are furious
A cancellation at the very last moment which made Chelsea leaders mad with rage, who needed Lamine Camara to strengthen their midfield. Particularly following the departure of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City, which has just been made official by the Skyblues.
And the night is not over for AS Monaco, which needs to sell to the DNCG. While it also seemed to have collapsed, the transfer of Folarin Balogun to Everton remains current and could be concluded in the coming minutes thanks to a rule which allows English clubs to still conclude deals one hour after the official end of the transfer window. The night is therefore likely to be long in the Monegasque offices.
