Gabriel Jesus could well wear the FC Barcelona jersey this season. Recruited from Arsenal for 10 million euros excluding bonuses, the 29-year-old Brazilian striker was officially registered with La Liga just fifteen minutes before the summer transfer window closed, reports Mundo Deportivo. Arriving in Barcelona on Monday afternoon, the former Manchester City player completed a series of steps before his transfer was validated: medical examination, signing of his three-year contract then registration with the Spanish championship shortly before midnight on Tuesday. Gabriel Jesus will recover the number 9 left free by Robert Lewandowski after the end of his contract. He could make his debut on Sunday at the Mestalla against Valencia if Hansi Flick decides to call on him.

Barça also resolved the situation of its new recruit Dominik Livakovic in the final hours of the transfer window. The 31-year-old Croatian international goalkeeper has also been officially registered in La Liga after signing a contract until 2030. He will wear number 25 and will compete with Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny in the Catalan goals. The club thus completes a particularly eventful last day with the qualification of its two new recruits for the next matches.
