The downsizing continues with notably Jordan James, loaned to Wolverhampton, while Breel Embolo left for Atlanta United for 17 million euros, to which could be added a 1 million € bonus. A departure which forces Rennes to find a new attacker capable of supporting Esteban Lepaul.
For several days, a track has led to Boulaye Dia. At 29, the Senegalese international has the advantage of knowing Ligue 1 perfectly after his notable stint at Stade de Reims. Now under contract with Lazio until 2028 after a stint at Villarreal, the striker joined the Roman club permanently from Salernitana for €11 million. Under the colors of the Italian team, he has a record of 14 goals and 5 assists in 79 matches.
Boulaye Dia wants to return to France
And the file has seriously accelerated. According to Sky ItaliaRennes has intensified its discussions in recent hours to try to repatriate Boulaye Dia to Ligue 1. Above all, the Breton club has already taken an important step since the player has given his agreement to join Rennes. Complete common ground was found between the Rennes management and the striker’s entourage, who was in favor of a return to France to relaunch after three seasons spent at Lazio.
