Recruited by Inter Milan when he was 16 and still playing with the Montfermeil U17s, Issiaka Kamaté will take on a new challenge abroad. The 22-year-old Frenchman, capable of playing in midfield as well as on the sides, joined Atlético de Madrid in the final hours of the transfer window where he signed a contract until 2030.

The Spanish club paid 2 million euros, plus bonuses, to secure the services of the player who will initially play in the reserve team led by Fernando Torres. For the Colchoneros, this is a record amount spent on an Atlético Madrileño player. The club’s plan is to gradually integrate him into the first team, which has not recruited the right winger position to compete with Giuliano Simeone.
