FC Barcelona: 5 gems risk exploding in the eyes of the general public this season!

FC Barcelona put its hand in its pocket this summer. In a slightly better financial situation than in recent years, and a little more spared by the strict financial fair play of La Liga, the Spanish champion has already brought in several players of a certain caliber this summer, like Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and especially Rodri, MVP of the last two major international competitions won by Spain. João Cancelo should also follow and (re)become blaugrana in the coming hours, while Deco intends to bring back an offensive reinforcement in Hansi Flick. Lautaro Martinez (Inter) is now the number 1 target for the Catalans, now that the Julian Alvarez option has definitely fallen by the wayside.

A very interesting transfer window therefore, which also aims to anticipate that of the summer of 2027, where the people of Barcelona will have fewer resources, the fault of a drop in income to be expected due to the work at the Camp Nou which will again force BarƧa to play at Montjuic. But we know that the DNA of FC Barcelona is also to count on the young people of La Masia. And even if players like Rodri or Gordon have arrived, everything indicates that one more season, many young players will have their opportunity in the first team. Captain of the FC Barcelona B team last season, Ɓlvaro CortƩs (21 years old) will have a card to play with the departure of Ronald Araujo, while BarƧa does not plan to recruit in defense to replace the Uruguayan. The left-hander is a defender in the purest Barcelona style, namely very lucid in his positioning and reading of the game, and gifted with the ball. He is also quite strong physically, which allows him to win duels, and has a fairly strong personality according to the media that follow BarƧa.

Beautiful people

Xavi Espart (19 years old) is for his part the player from the Barcelona academy who should have the most playing time next season, in particular because Hansi Flick appreciates him enormously and did not hesitate to make it known publicly. He had already used it several times last season. ā€œHe’s a top level playerā€recently summed up the BarƧa coach, while the player is compared to Philipp Lahm. And for good reason, he is a right-back also capable of shining in midfield. Incredible versatility and maturity in his game, which make him a very credible alternative for midfield, he who is just as good with the ball as when he has to recover it. In terms of football IQ, he is perhaps the most football intelligent player there is at the club currently.

And if we talk about pure talent, Ebrima Tunkara (16 years old) is probably the youngster who will most get Barcelona fans out of their seats at the Camp Nou. A very complete attacking midfielder – with a profile quite different from what La Masia is used to producing – he displays a disconcerting ease in making differences thanks to his physical power and his explosiveness, but also thanks to his great technical quality. A player capable of lighting a defense on fire single-handedly, and surely one of the best dribblers in his age category in the world. As for Hamza Abdelkarim (18 years old), arrived at Barcelona during last season, he amazed everyone during the pre-season, scoring a series of goals and displaying the qualities of a fox which should allow him to stay with the A and grab some playing time here and there. A bet for the future made by BarƧa’s leaders which is becoming a “present” bet, since no one expected to see it at this level so quickly. Honorable mention for Jesse Bissiwu (18 years old) also, recently arrived from Bruges, but who faces much greater competition than the others on the wings. However, he has already shown that in the event of injuries or rotations, he can respond. No doubt, the succession of Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal and Gavi is already assured.
