Opposing Auxerre this Friday evening at Groupama Stadium, OL won with authority and pushed AJA a little further, still looking for their first points in Ligue 1.

Still no points for Auxerre. This Friday, AJA traveled to Groupama Stadium to face OL on the third day of Ligue 1. In search of their first points of the season, Will Still’s men were quickly put in difficulty by the more enterprising Lyonnais from the start.

OL initially thought they could open the score through Openda. But the Belgian striker’s goal was ultimately disallowed for offside. Auxerre then reacted and found the net four minutes later. Again, the production was canceled. The referee penalized a foul by Archer on Tolisso.

Lyon makes the difference

The first valid goal of the match finally came from Felix Bacher. For his first with OL, the new Lyon recruit headed a corner to open the scoring in the 28th minute. Three minutes later, another recruit allowed Les Gones to make the break. It was Athekame who doubled the lead, placing OL in an ideal position. But Auxerre has not given up. Just before the break, Archer reduced the gap (42nd) and restarted his team. The two teams returned to the locker rooms with a single goal difference in favor of the Lyonnais.

When we returned from the locker room, the appearance of the match had not changed. Lyon continued to control the debates and ended up being rewarded. In the 53rd minute, Ernest Nuamah scored OL’s third goal and definitively sealed the fate of the match. Final score: 3-1. With this success, Lyon confirms its good start to the season, while Auxerre is still looking for its first points.
