Chelsea’s strategy in the transfer window, since the arrival of BlueCo, has not had the desired effect in terms of results, since the Blues have never been in the race to become champion again. Often mocked for their gluttony in the transfer window, the London leaders are however far from being fooled, and happily make up for it at the time of sales. Last season, they had already recovered €340 million by parting with their undesirables (Madueke, Nkunku, João Felix, etc.). This season, they have already sold for €165 million with the departures of Andrey Santos (€56 million to Manchester United), Cucurella (€55 million to Real Madrid), Chalobah (€30 million to Como) and George (€21 million to Everton).
Chelsea can reach a record
A sum which will soon swell seriously, since Liam Delap is on his way to Nottingham Forest, who will beat his transfer record and cost around €50 million. There will then be the Nicolas Jackson file, for which Chelsea could well recover €70 million. That’s a total of €120 million in the coffers thanks to two players who cost €70 million between them.
The two attackers have almost no prospect of playing time this season under the orders of Xabi Alonso, whose starter at the forefront of the attack is JoĂŁo Pedro, with two summer recruits as alternatives, Danny Welbeck and Emanuel Emegha. Chelsea have not finished their summer cleaning, within their bloated workforce.
