This Tuesday evening, the 53rd annual PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) Trophies ceremony is being held in Manchester, rewarding the major players in English football of the year, via the votes of the professional players’ union. For this 2026 edition, the trophy for best young player was awarded to Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City).

Having become an indisputable starter for the Cityzens, the 21-year-old left back played 55 games during the 2025/2026 season, for a total of nine goals and six assists. He particularly stood out during the last League Cup final against Arsenal (0-2), last March, where he allowed the Skyblues to leave with the trophy thanks to a double. His teammate, Rayan Cherki, was also nominated in this category.
