Arsenal have started talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a possible transfer of Jarell Quansah. Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his defensive sector and particularly appreciates the versatility of the 23-year-old England international, capable of playing in the center as well as in the right-back position, informs Sky Sports. Arriving in Germany from Liverpool last summer, Quansah quickly established himself with 44 appearances in all competitions in his first season, before featuring in three matches for England at the 2026 World Cup.

Bayer Leverkusen, however, has no intention of easily parting with its defender, under contract for another four years and whose performances and adaptation have convinced internally. Arsenal should therefore offer a sum well above the 30 million pounds paid by the German club to recruit him. Another element could weigh in this matter since Liverpool still has a buyout clause negotiated at the time of Quansah’s departure for Leverkusen.
