This month of August will be more than decisive for Olympique Lyonnais. First of all, there are these elimination rounds of the Champions League, with a first leg of the third round already lost against Sparta Prague (2-1). Tuesday evening, at Groupama Stadium, the Lyonnais will therefore have to make a small comeback to hope to play in the play-offs. Suffice it to say that elimination would already be a disaster for the Rhone residents, who would get their season off to a very poor start…

At the same time, the Lyonnais are making progress in the transfer window. Felix Bacher recently arrived to strengthen the defensive sector, while Orel Mangala left for Getafe. The club should also receive a nice check on the sale of Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal, with this 20% capital gain clause on a future resale. OL should thus recover 8 million euros without doing anything in this operation.

A nice jackpot

And a big sale could happen in the coming days. As indicated in the Corriere dello SportRoma are very interested in Malick Fofana. The Romans have understood that they will not be able to recruit Antonio Nusa, and will fall back on the Belgian international, their new priority in attack. He fits perfectly with what Gasperini asked of his managers, namely a young player but capable of performing well as soon as he arrives.

The media thus explains that the player is valued at 40 million euros, an amount which does not scare the transalpine team. On the other hand, there are some doubts about his health following his ankle injury, and there is also competition from RB Leipzig, looking for a replacement for Yan Diomandé, and with a lot of money available after this big sale. But OL, who were not necessarily counting on a sale of Fofana, should therefore receive a big check by the end of the summer.
