It’s now official. After more than five years spent under the tunic of AC Milan, Ismaël Bennacer is definitively turning the page in Milan. Loaned for the last two seasons and on the verge of terminating his contract, the 28-year-old Algerian international midfielder published a vibrant message to the supporters of the club he joined in 2019. He wanted to express all his pride in having defended these colors, greeting the staff, his teammates and an audience at San Siro who will have marked his career:

Dear Milan supporters, last year I said goodbye to you without imagining that these words would ultimately take the form of a farewell. Nothing can erase the memories built here over five years. I wore this jersey with pride, passion and determination, alongside great teammates and with the support of exceptional supporters. Winning the Scudetto with this jersey will forever remain one of the most beautiful memories of my career. Playing at San Siro, in front of you, was one of the greatest honours. I would like to thank all the people who accompanied my journey: my teammates, the various staff, the club employees as well as all those who contributed to making this adventure so special. A special thought for the Milan supporters, whose love and support will remain forever engraved in my heart. You make Milan a unique club. I hope our paths cross again, one way or another, because deep down I know our story isn’t totally over. Thanks for everything. Forza Milan per semper.» As a reminder, Bennacer won a Serie A and an Italian Super Cup with the Rossoneri. He should now continue his career with Al-Gharafa.
