Mone 98 champion, Patrick Vieira was officially named coach of Senegal this Tuesday.

It was in the air, it’s now official. Patrick Vieira was named the new coach of Senegal this Tuesday, the FSF announced in a press release.

Free from any contract, the 98 world champion succeeds Pape Thiaw. The latter was sacked after the elimination of the Lions of Teranga in 16^e World Cup final against Belgium.

“This strategic choice marks a new stage in the FSF’s desire to establish high-level technical support, in perfect harmony with the sporting ambitions of our country”indicated the Senegalese Federation, which did not specify the duration of its contract.
