João Cancelo’s return to FC Barcelona is now very close to being finalized. After several weeks of discussions, the different parties are close to a final agreement and the Portuguese full-back should return to the Catalan club this week. An operation which responds to the desire of Hansi Flick and the Barcelona sports management to maintain continuity in the defensive sector after a successful season.
The agreement between Cancelo and Barça had already been reached for several days, but the file was slowed down by negotiations with Al-Hilal, where the player was still under contract until 2027. The Saudi club finally opened the door to his departure, while Barcelona should invest around 8 million euros to recover the Portuguese international, who should sign up for two seasons according to A.S..
