Jean-Philippe Mateta reacts after the Mondial des Bleus

Jean-Philippe Mateta spoke after the end of the French team’s journey at the World Cup. The Crystal Palace striker thanked the supporters, the coach and all the staff for their trust, while expressing his great disappointment at not having succeeded in bringing back the trophy. “This is just a step, and we will continue to work to come back even stronger”wrote the French international on Instagram.

During this World Cup, Mateta will have played three matches in the Blues jersey. Used exclusively off the bench, the center forward never exceeded 13 minutes of play per appearance, but still wanted to send a message of gratitude to the French supporters after this campaign.
