Ferran Torres is determined to put pressure on FC Barcelona. While his club plans to resume discussions around its extension once the summer transfer window is over, the reigning world champion broke the silence yesterday and opened the door to a departure: “I have a contract with FC Barcelona, but in football you never know. I’m waiting to make the right decision. I don’t know yet.”he explained. And in statements released by Sportico before being removed, the Spanish international claimed that the Catalan club must now take action.
“They have to show me that they want me, come and negotiate and in the end it’s all a question of discussion. I have a contract with Barcelona. It’s true that in football, you never know what can happen, but since I have a contract, I can wait and decide for myself.”launched the 26-year-old. The former Manchester City man was also asked about interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Without closing the door, Ferran Torres recognized that it was always rewarding to attract the attention of such a club.
Barça does not want to extend it right away
“It’s always a good thing when teams like that want you. In football, everything can change in a minute. You never know. I have to be ready for anything”he added. This time, the speech is more offensive and resembles a real appeal to Barça, from whom he asks for concrete proof of confidence. As we revealed, the scorer in the last World Cup final wants to leave Barça to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
According to SportFC Barcelona has however not changed its roadmap. The club still wants to extend Ferran Torres, but negotiations should not resume until September, once the transfer market has closed. Internally, the managers also assure that they have not received any particular request from the player, despite statements which risk further fueling the rumors around his future.
