Paris Saint-Germain will play their first summer preparation match this Wednesday against RCD Mallorca (8 p.m.). A poster which may surprise, especially since the Spanish club will play in the second division this season after its relegation from La Liga. In reality, this meeting is the result of an agreement concluded between the two clubs during the transfer of Kang-in Lee to Paris in the summer of 2023.
As the president of Mallorca, Alfonso Diaz, revealed, the organization of a friendly match was one of the clauses negotiated between the two teams. Initially planned earlier, this meeting could ultimately only be scheduled for the summer of 2026. Ironically, Kang-in Lee, since transferred to Atlético de Madrid, will not even participate in this meeting. PSG will approach this first test with a squad still deprived of several internationals, expected in the coming days after their post-World Cup vacation.
