FC Barcelona will launch its summer preparation on July 13 with a new addition to its group: Juwensley Onstein will be present alongside the first team reports Sport. The young Dutch central defender has been called up by Hansi Flick to participate at the start of pre-season, a move which illustrates the club’s confidence in his potential. Arriving during the last winter transfer window from Genk, Onstein benefited from a specific program upon his arrival, after several months without competition. Despite a start disrupted by some physical problems with Juvenil A (U19), Barça continues to believe in his qualities and sees in him a player capable of progressing to the highest level.
Standing at 1.90 meters tall, Onstein stands out for his physical profile and his impact in defensive duels. In recent weeks he has worked individually to be ready for the restart and should have an important role with Barça Atlètic this season, where he is expected to be one of the key players in the defense. This preseason also represents an opportunity for him to show himself in the eyes of Hansi Flick and his staff, within a group that will welcome several young talents from La Masia such as Álex González, Orian Goren, Òscar Gistau, Guille Fernández, Toni Fernández, Álvaro Cortés, Shane Kluivert, Ebrima Tunkara and Tommy Marqués.
