Now under the orders of Bruno Genesio, Olympique de Marseille continues its transfer window before the start of next season. After the departure of Bilal Nadir at the end of his contract and while waiting for a departure for Mason Greenwood, see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a new player from Olympique de Marseille is about to pack his bags. According to our information, a total agreement was reached between OM and Genoa for the departure of Hamed Junior Traoré (26 years old), only one season after his arrival.

The two clubs agreed on a loan with a purchase option of more than 8 million euros. A formula which allows Genoa to limit its immediate investment, while ensuring that OM frees up payroll, as well as a large sum of money if the Italian club decides to exercise the option at the end of the season. Sanctioned by the DNCG at the start of the summer, Marseille is continuing its downsizing operation in order to finance part of its summer transfer window.

Hamed Junior Traoré returns to Serie A

Arriving last summer from Bournemouth as part of a loan with an almost obligatory purchase option, after a good season with AJ Auxerre, Hamed Junior Traoré never managed to establish himself sustainably on the Canebière. Hampered by several injuries throughout the season, the 26-year-old Ivorian international only played 19 matches in all competitions, for a record of 3 goals and 2 assists. An insufficient performance to convince the Olympian leaders to bet on him in the long term.

For Traoré, this transfer will allow him to return to a championship where he had already performed. The former Empoli, Sassuolo and Naples player will return to Serie A in which he had revealed himself before his departure for the Premier League. As for Genoa, which has already welcomed several former Marseillais in recent years, such as Kevin Strootman, Ruslan Malinovskyi or Vitinha, the Italian club hopes to relaunch the career of Hamed Junior Traoré, after a complicated season in Ligue 1.
