Recruited in 2023 by Paris Saint-Germain, at the same time as Randal Kolo Muani and while Kylian Mbappé was still present, Gonçalo Ramos very quickly understood that he was going to play luxury replacements under the orders of Luis Enrique. But while many attackers recruited for €65 million would have complained, the Portuguese remained exemplary, even when his coach played profiles such as Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué or even Senny Mayulu in his position.

It is even in his role as supersub that Ramos excelled with the Rouge et Bleu. The former Benfica resident has often scored the winning goal coming off the bench. FC Barcelona and Olympique de Marseille must surely remember this. But after 45 goals scored and 10 assists delivered in 131 matches, all competitions combined, Ramos wanted to become a starter again in his position. Announced in the sights of Atlético de Madrid, the Lusitanian international will finally sign for AC Milan.

A choice 9 for Amorim

“After three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain and no less than 12 trophies won, including two consecutive Champions Leagues, Gonçalo Ramos is signing with AC Milan, as part of a permanent transfer”we can read in the published press release, while AC Milan specifies that it has signed a contract with the Club until June 30, 2031. Paris Saint-Germain is parting ways with an exemplary duty player, but he is carrying out a very good operation. While it so often sold its players poorly a few years ago, the capital club has this time recovered its initial investment since the Rossoneri will pay €65 million plus a €5 million bonus to afford the Parisian.

An excellent financial operation for Paris, but also for Milan. The Lombards did not hesitate to recruit the most expensive player in their history, ahead of Rafael Leão (enlisted in exchange for €49.5 million), to get off on the right foot. Deprived of the Champions League in the money time, Milan remains ambitious and wants to put an end to its repeated failures in recruiting a bare number 9 (Gimenez, Jovic, Morata, Füllkrug). Will Ramos be the one? Milan hope the association with compatriot Ruben Amorim will bear fruit.
