Arsenal exercise option to buy Piero Hincapié

He has been satisfactory this season. Piero Hincapié will stay at Arsenal for the long term. Loaned with an option to buy from Bayer Lervekusen a year ago, the Ecuadorian full-back participated in 40 matches for the Gunners and concluded the season with a Premier League title and a Champions League final.

The English club has decided to exercise its purchase option and pay €52 million in this deal. The 24-year-old will once again be in the fight this season with Dutchman Jurriën Timber for a starting place in the Arsenal defence. He is currently participating in the World Cup with his selection.
