At PSG, the hierarchy of goalkeepers is clearly structured around Matvey Safonov, now installed as number 1 and symbol of the meritocracy defended by Luis Enrique. The 27-year-old Russian goalkeeper gradually gained the upper hand over the course of the season, notably after overtaking Lucas Chevalier in the rotation and actively participating in the club’s European coronation in the Champions League. A situation which reshuffles the cards for Chevalier, who arrived from LOSC for €55 million, and who today sees his Parisian future darkening, with several clubs such as Tottenham and Besiktas monitoring his situation. In the event of departure, the club’s position is clear: maintain high-level dual competition or reinvest immediately to maintain this balance.

In this context, PSG is already anticipating the future with a project targeting the future of the position. According to The Teamthe most advanced file concerns Renato Marin, a young 19-year-old goalkeeper who arrived from AS Roma, whose progress is closely monitored internally. Considered as an element with high potential, he is destined to take an important step with a planned loan in order to acquire playing time and become more experienced, with avenues in Ligue 1 and abroad. At the same time, the Parisian club is also working on the signing of Alessandro Longoni, 18-year-old goalkeeper from AC Milan, seen as one of the great European hopes in his position.
