Le Havre has found Mathieu Bodmer’s successor as sports director. This is Demba Ba, who is moving from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1.

The HAC has its new sports director. Following the departure of Mathieu Bodmer at the end of last season, the Norman club formalized the arrival of Demba Ba on Friday. A return to his roots for someone who spent his childhood in Le Havre.

The former Senegalese international striker (41 years old), who played in clubs like Hoffenheim in Germany, West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea in England, or even Besiktas in Turkey, then retrained as a manager.

Demba Ba to “grow” the HAC

It is his work carried out since 2023 at Dunkirk, in Ligue 2, which convinced the Le Havre leaders to give him a chance. Leaders seduced by its “spirit of a builder”, who wish “continue to grow the club and enable it to continue in Ligue 1”.
