At 31, French goalkeeper Jean Butez was a major player in his club’s qualification for the Champions League with 19 clean sheets to his credit. Considered one of the best goalkeepers in Calcio, the ex-Dog gave us an exclusive interview. In it, he discusses the situation of another goalkeeper trained at LOSC, the French international, Lucas Chevalier, who experienced a complicated first season with the capital club.

“He had several incredible seasons for his young age with his loan to Valenciennes and then his seasons at LOSC. At his age, to have already won so many Ligue 1 and European Cup championship matches is already a great success. Now, at PSG, he is in a slightly more difficult phase, the first of his career. He’s going to learn and maybe it’s a very good thing that’s happening to him because he’s young. He has a lot of time ahead of him and this will allow him to be even more alert on certain points. If I take an example from my career, I have had moments of injuries, poor performances, it is these moments which helped me to be even more hardworking and which bring me to this level today. Small challenges make you stronger and I imagine that will be the case for him”. The full interview with Jean Butez where he talks about his season in Como and his ambitions can be found this evening on French Football Weekly.
