On May 14, Benjamin Pavard learned without much surprise that he would not be flying to the United States with the French team to play in the 2026 World Cup. Loaned this season to OM, the defender hoped to find both playing time and his best form there. The experience was not crowned with success and he returned to Inter Milan. But he no longer fits into his trainer’s plans. It remains to be seen whether he will find an escape route.
Very far from his best level within an Olympique de Marseille in overall decline as the season progressed, Benjamin Pavard therefore missed his subject. Last summer, he opted for the Marseille club rather than returning to LOSC. Loaned by Inter Milan where Christian Chivu no longer counted on him, the 2018 world champion therefore collapsed at the same time as his adopted team.
OM having not exercised the purchase option, here he is again with the Nerazzurri who still do not want him. Serie A champions without their French defender, the Milanese have confirmed that the page has been turned. But Benjamin Pavard nonetheless remains linked to Inter until June 2028 and we will have to decide.
Turkey is interested in Benjamin Pavard
THE Corriere dello Sport rightly mentioned the situation of the thirty-year-old player bought for just over 32 million euros from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 and whose market value is today estimated at 12 million euros. The transalpine media mentioned the interest of Besiktas. The Turkish club would welcome the arrival of Pavard to strengthen its defensive sector.
His annual salary of 5 million euros net would not represent a problem. Happy to be at Inter, Benjamin Pavard will perhaps wait for other offers to emerge before making a decision for his future.
