Loaned to OL by Real Madrid in January, Endrick returned to Spain at the end of the season. But Lyon does not close the door on his return.

On the verge of being administratively demoted to Ligue 2 last summer, Olympique Lyonnais managed to save itself before achieving a season exceeding all its hopes. And to help it finish fourth in Ligue 1, the Rhone club was able to count on a certain Endrick. Loaned by Real Madrid during the winter transfer window, the Brazilian brought a real offensive plus. Having left at the end of the season, could he return to OL?

A few weeks ago, the question had already been asked to Matthieu Louis-Jean. The Lyon technical director explained that it would be very complicated to see the Brazilian international return to Groupama Stadium. This Wednesday, the leader spoke again on the subject at the microphone of RMC.

“He’s a very good boy, Endrick. He has agreed to take part in next season’s jersey campaign, so that’s a good thing. » As for the possibility of seeing the striker with OL in 2026-2027: “Right now, I would say no. Often Endrick talks about God, so we’ll see what happens next. »

Endrick looking for playing time

And Matthieu Louis-Jean left a small door open by discussing the situation at Real Madrid. “You arrive at clubs where there are so many players, so many stars, it’s not easy for these types of players. They also want to play. We saw him when he arrived. He was starving to death. When you’re on the bench of a big club, it’s not easy, because you’re still a mega-star in Brazil. »

Very little chance of seeing Endrick return to Lyon, but the hypothesis has not been completely ruled out, in particular for a question of playing time. “I think he arrived in Lyon and he found what he was looking for. Us too by the way. He is still a young player who needs to progress. The future for him is finding playing time.”
