In disgrace on the side of Paris Saint-Germain, Marco Verratti is closer than ever to the exit. An agreement has been reached between the Parisian club and Al-Arabi.
For several weeks now, the leaders of Paris Saint-Germain have made it clear to Marco Verratti that the time has come for him to go play elsewhere. Eleven years after his arrival from Pescara, the Italian international therefore knew that his future no longer passed through Paris and several Gulf clubs had also noted it. Several candidates have raised their hands, but so far none have been able to convince PSG to sell their player. Until the Qataris of Al-Arabi come out of the woodwork. An agreement now exists.
According to information revealed on Sunday by Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Arabi have found contractual common ground for a transfer of the “little owl”. No amount has yet been mentioned, but it is necessarily more important than the thirty million recently proposed (but refused) by the Saudis of Al-Hilal. For its part, the Parisian management mentioned a few months ago the sum of one hundred million euros to agree to let go of its player.
What does the player want?
Marco Verratti had also agreed with Al-Ahli who hoped to convince PSG. It would therefore seem that competition from Al-Arabi is thwarting the Saudi plans. In the meantime, the media clarified that the entourage of the Italian international was now in contact with representatives of Al-Arabi and that things were moving in the right direction. In any case, optimism would be in order on the buyers’ side. FM finally adds a detail that is important in this case: the president of the Qatari club belongs to the same family as the owner of PSG.
However, it remains to know the real position of a Marco Verratti who until then continued to favor a continuation of his career in a high-level European championship. The end of the transfer window approaching, the file should quickly know its epilogue.
