Barely more than eight days before the start of the World Cup, the executives of the French team are on all fronts. Because in addition to refining their preparation under the orders of Didier Deschamps and his staff, the Blues must resolve several outstanding issues with Philippe Diallo, the president of the FFF.
The first concerns bonuses. While the boss of French football recently denied wanting to revise these bonuses downwards due to the significant costs generated by this World Cup in the United States, an agreement is about to be reached providing for the granting of a bonus only in the event of qualification for the semi-finals, its amount therefore being revised upwards compared to 2022.
Another subject is more problematic, that of the places allocated to players of the France team for each match played by the Blues. For now, the FFF intends to offer two places for each match to each of the 26 players present at the World Cup and offer six others for sale. A solution which hardly satisfies Kylian Mbappé and the other French players.
The Blues expected Thursday in Nantes
Didier Deschamps wants all these problems to be resolved by June 10, the date of the Blues’ departure for the United States. Six days later, the French team will launch its World Cup against Senegal (9 p.m.) before continuing on the 22nd against Iraq then on the 26th against Norway.
The world vice-champions also have an appointment this Thursday with Ivory Coast in Nantes for their first preparation match and will continue on Monday in Lille against Northern Ireland.
The French group is now complete since the finalists of the Champions League joined Clairefontaine this Tuesday. Hit in the back, William Saliba nevertheless remained in care.
