Florentino Pérez strongly criticized his rival in the Real Madrid presidential election, Enrique Riquelme, during a meeting with socios and supporters’ clubs in the province of Toledo. The Madrid president notably accused his opponent of being more concerned about his personal notoriety than the future of the club, also reproaching Riquelme for certain criticisms made against the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
“He seems more concerned with building a personal brand, becoming famous. The members of Real Madrid deserve respect. You cannot be president by mistreating the symbols of the club. He speaks like our opponents, with contempt for the stadium which is our home. No Spanish bank wanted to give him support and he had to turn to a bank in Andorra. Rather than clinging to an outdated project of swimming pools and padel courts, we propose the creation of the largest technological park in Europe, a source of new income which will allow Real Madrid to remain leader.he blurted. As a reminder, Real Madrid has formalized the holding of its next presidential elections on June 7.
