The evening was historic, even legendary for many. This Saturday evening, PSG won its second Champions League (against Arsenal on penalties, 1-1 then 4-3 tab), the second in a row after having unlocked its counter last season against Inter Milan (5-0). A victory which confirms the success of the new PSG project embodied by Luis Enrique. Since the arrival of the Spanish coach, the capital club had decided to abandon the recruitment of football stars to think of a more collective project. With the help of Luis Campos in particular, the former Spain coach finally built an untouchable team that continues to amaze everyone.

After last season’s European coronation, Luis Enrique made the crazy bet not to make any big splashes in the summer transfer window, preferring to maintain a certain stability. And even when many considered the Parisian squad a little short, without any backup to Achraf Hakimi for example, Luis Enrique knew how to reinvent his tactics and was above all able to count on the foolproof versatility of several players in the squad, like Warren Zaire-Emery for example. However, this summer, PSG should be active on the summer market, more than last season. Two consecutive victories in C1 will certainly not stop the Parisian leaders who hope to win a third star next season. To strengthen the Parisian squad, Luis Enrique and Luis Campos have targeted several positions. And they did not wait for victory in C1 to start the transfer window.

PSG has started its transfer window

PSG has already made progress on several profiles, in particular that of a central defender capable of playing as a right back as well. Management also put forward its pawns for a left-back who would arrive as Nuno Mendes’ understudy. Offensively, PSG will now be able to accelerate on two profiles, that of a right winger and that of a number 9. On the right, the profile of Ivorian striker Yan DiomandĂ© has already been mentioned and he seems to please the Parisian staff. For the number 9 position, PSG had made JuliĂĄn Álvarez one of its priorities, but he seems to be moving away and PSG has activated other avenues. And all this, even before selling certain players who will also be replaced. The prospect of French international MaghnĂšs Akliouche is also very serious and his arrival would not block that of a central striker.

Finally, in the cages, the management of the Lucas Chevalier case will be followed, while PSG seems determined to lock down another major goalkeeper, the Portuguese international Diogo Costa, who has always been popular within the capital club. As for the departures, we will have to carefully monitor the situation of Marquinhos and Bradley Barcola up front. Super-subs Gonçalo Ramos and Kang-in Lee will also be serious candidates for a departure this summer, as will Ibrahim Mbaye. They will in any case be replaced by PSG, which therefore does not want to waste time and offer Luis Enrique an almost complete squad as soon as the season resumes. The PSG project continues to expand!
