According to a press release from the Paris prosecutor’s office published around 11:30 a.m., a fatal traffic accident involving a motocross bike took place in the capital last night during the celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League coronation.
The driver, who died, allegedly collided with concrete blocks on an exit ramp from the ring road at Porte Maillot, reports The Parisian. Another person, seriously injured, faces a life-threatening condition this Sunday. The Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nunez, also denounced a “increased number of mortar shots at law enforcement“. In total, 780 arrests throughout the country (compared to 592 last year for the same match) and 457 police custody incidents were recorded. There were also 219 injured (8 serious), and 57 police officers injured.
