The town hall of the 8th arrondissement imposes zero gatherings on the Champs-Elysées

Following the violent excesses that occurred on the Champs-Élysées after PSG’s victory against Arsenal in the Champions League final (1-1, 4-3 tab), the town hall of the 8th arrondissement demanded a radical change of strategy this Sunday. Noting the powerlessness of current systems in the face of excesses, local elected officials are calling for a strict ban on any gatherings on the avenue in order to prevent future scenes of chaos:

Saturday evening, on the sidelines of the Champions League final between Paris-Saint-Germain and Arsenal, the avenue des Champs-Élysées and its surroundings ceased to be a party space to become an urban guerrilla arena, denounces the town hall. Since it is impossible to celebrate a match without descending into rioting, the only common sense response is a new doctrine: zero gatherings.»
