A few weeks before the 2026 World Cup, a video filmed in a competition stadium raises concerns about the quality of the pitches.

As the World Cup approaches, there are many questions about what this competition will look like in the United States of Donald Trump. Among the pre-tournament topics, there is the question of lawns.

In recent days, a video has generated quite a few comments on social networks. We see the pitch being installed in HardRock Stadium, Miami Stadium, with construction equipment. The images do not inspire much confidence among Internet users, who fear seeing the players trip over the green carpet.

In the United States, certain stadiums are known to be cursed. This is the case of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, the home of the San Francisco 49ers, decimated by injuries in recent years. Algeria will play there on June 22 against Jordan.

Be careful at certain stages…

Another stadium with a very bad reputation? The one in New York, MetLife Stadium, where many great NFL players have suffered serious accidents. But the artificial pitch (“turf”), authorized for American football, has of course been replaced by a grass pitch. What reassures the French team, which will play there on June 16 against Senegal?

Coming back to the Miami stadium, it will be used from June 15 for Saudi Arabia-Uruguay, and will then host beautiful posters like Scotland-Brazil (June 24) or Colombia-Portugal (June 27). To reassure everyone, we must remember that Fifa imposes very precise specifications for the World Cup, with very demanding quality standards, particularly for the pitches.
