Mercato: hard blow for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid of José Mourinho

FC Barcelona has already launched its transfer window well, with the arrival of Anthony Gordon whose formalization is imminent. Opposite, the Blaugranas’ sworn enemy, Real Madrid, must wait to know the result of the presidential elections to strengthen themselves. As is often the case, Catalans and Madrilenians have common objectives and therefore target the same players. This is the case of Alessandro Bastoni, the central defender of Inter. The 27-year-old has often been presented in recent weeks as FC Barcelona’s priority to strengthen its rearguard. For its part, the Madrid press explained that José Mourinho had already informed Florentino Pérez of his intention to recruit the transalpine international. A like from the principal concerned on Mourinho’s return to Madrid had also set fire in Spain.

Inter closes the door

But Inter president Beppe Marotta wanted to clarify things, in an interview with DAZN. “I think the fans can be reassured about Bastoni. As a matter of principle, we are not sellers. If a player leaves, it is because he himself has expressed the desire to leave. I have to say that, in Alessandro’s case, this is absolutely not the case. He’s happy here, so we don’t need to sell him. I think he will stay with us…”indicated the Italian leader, who is therefore clearly closing the door.

Under contract in Milan until June 2028, the one who cost the Lombards 40 million euros in 2017 should therefore not leave his club this summer. The trend was even, according to Italian publications, towards an extension with Inter. Suffice to say that unless the situation turns around, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will have to turn to other players to strengthen themselves…
