Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen has found the “ideal” successor to Mohamed Salah.

It’s a page that is turning. After nine seasons spent at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah will not continue the adventure within the club on the banks of the Mersey. The Egyptian international played his last match for the Reds last Sunday, at Anfield, against Brentford (1-1).

The departure of the Pharaoh noted, Liverpool is now looking for a successor. On this subject, Michael Owen submitted a name to the Reds. This is Jarrod Bowen. Despite his deep attachment to West Ham, relegated to the Championship, the 29-year-old could leave the Hammers this summer.

“If a really good offer comes along… As I’ve been saying for a long time and I don’t regret it, now that Salah has left Liverpool, I think Bowen is the perfect replacement”estimated the 2001 Ballon d’Or for Premier League Productions.

“Taking Salah’s place would be really exciting for him”

“If such an opportunity arose for him to play for Liverpool, even the most fanatical West Ham supporter would not be able to complain. Rather than playing in the Championship, joining one of the best teams in the world and taking Salah’s place would be really exciting for him.”concluded Owen.

Recently, The Guardian had mentioned Liverpool’s interest in Jarrod Bowen. But the Reds would not be the only ones on the spot. Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly following the matter closely.
