Relegated to Ligue 2, FC Nantes is determined about its fate, with the LFP disciplinary committee, after the invasion of the pitch at La Beaujoire during the last match of the season in the 22nd minute.

FC Nantes impatiently awaited the decisions of the LFP disciplinary committee meeting this Wednesday. The Canaries were relegated to Ligue 2 after finishing in penultimate place but were under a points sanction to start next season after the serious incidents in the last match against Toulouse, on May 17 at La Beaujoire.

While the FCN had already been relegated since the previous weekend, dozens of Brigade Loire supporters invaded the pitch heading towards the locker room tunnel. Vahid Halilhodzic then tried to calm them down before languishing, alone, on his sidelines in the face of this catastrophe. The meeting obviously never resumed.

Nantes-Toulouse gives a 0-0!

The disciplinary committee decided “to definitively confirm the score acquired on the field at the time of the final interruption of the match (0-0)” and played a closed match behind closed doors at the Beaujoire stadium, followed by the closure of the Loire stand for two closed matches. Waldemar Kita’s club will not start Ligue 2 with fewer points.

Victory is not given on the green carpet in favor of TFC and the Ville Rose club reserves the right to appeal. “Toulouse FC takes note of the decision of the LFP Disciplinary Commission to ratify the score of the FCNTFC match, while questioning its merits. We regret that this meeting was not able to conclude under normal conditions and we wonder what the Club could have concretely done, in such a context, to allow the match to end.”it is written in a publication on X.
