2026 World Cup: Corentin Tolisso's strong outing on Didier Deschamps and the Blues

This is certainly the most questionable absence on this list. Not selected by Didier Deschamps despite his fantastic season with OL, Corentin Tolisso should have been part of the French delegation at the World Cup for many people. This is particularly the case of his former teammate at OL, Maxence Caqueret, who would have taken him “100%” in place of the current coach.

“The greatest injustice between the non-call-up of Jean Butez (his teammate and goalkeeper in Como, editor’s note) or that of Corentin Tolisso? I think it’s Corentin’s, I would have taken him 100%, his season is just incredible, in terms of leadership, statistics, and the level displayed with the club. I wonder if this is not one, or even the best season of his career, so obviously he was legitimate in this place in the France team. »
