With Pep Guardiola, Bernardo Silva also leaves Manchester City after nine years with the Skyblues. The time to take stock has therefore come for the 31-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder. And among the confidences made by the former Monegasque, there is a little transfer window story. Indeed, Bernardo Silva tried to secure the transfer of João Neves to Paris Saint-Germain in 2024.

“During the last Euro 2024, Rúben Dias and I knew that he was about to sign for PSG. So we started calling Manchester City to dissuade them from letting him go. They had other priorities at the time and gave up on recruiting him, but today they perhaps regret it a little… We already knew João and we had already trained with him; we were able to see what kind of player he was, a player who never disappoints”he told DAZN.
