AC Milan has entered a zone of turbulence. The Lombard club announced yesterday to everyone’s surprise, the departure of Giorgio Furlani, CEO, sporting director Igli Tare, Massimiliano Allegri and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, advisor to the owner, Gerry Cardinale, appears to be the big winner of this decision. His powers are reinforced after a season where the Rossoneri failed in 5th place in Serie A, outside the qualifying places for the Champions League therefore, after a failed end to the season.
There have been moments of tension this season, according to the information reported by the Corriere della Seranotably this episode in a Milanese restaurant where Massimiliano Allegri and Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost fought each other. It was Igli Tare who was forced to separate the two men, who disagreed over… the 3rd goalkeeper in next season’s squad. The Italian technician and the former Swedish striker found it increasingly difficult to work together, just like Furlani. Allegri could have continued the adventure, however, in the event of qualification in C1, since his contract would have been automatically extended.
