PSG refines its preparation
D-5 before Paris faces Arsenal in Budapest, the challenge is very simple, glean a second big-eared cup in a row. And if PSG is the favorite, it is also becoming a regular since Paris will play its third Champions League final in 6 years. And to prepare for this deadline, Luis Enrique and his staff decided to build on what had worked wonderfully last year. The staff avoids overloading the players with too much tactical or emotional information, the players are allowed to see their loved ones, the families are present, which allows for lighter moments to break the tension of such an important meeting. Out of the question for Luis Enrique to disrupt the daily lives of Parisians, it is simply a question of continuing a classic preparation, in order to relieve stress, but while creating positive energy so that everyone moves in the same direction.
AC Milan gets hit after its choke
AC Milan thought it was almost impossible not to qualify for the Champions League a few weeks ago, but the Rossoneri completely collapsed, the proof with this defeat at home last night against Cagliari. A setback which is difficult since Milan loses its qualifying place for the Champions League. “A slap, a shame, a collapse. We cannot speak of madness. Milan came out of the Champions League not because of bad fate, but deservedly. Yesterday, destiny was bitterly shattered in the empty and disillusioned looks of the Rossoneri supporters.“, writing La Gazzetta dello Sport this Monday. With only one victory in the last 5 matches, Milan has collapsed and will therefore play in the Europa League next season.
Resounding feat in Portugal!
Football had a major feat in store for us last night. Sporting CP lost 2-1 in the Cup final in overtime against second division side Torreense. This victory is historic since Torreense wins its first title, 70 years after failing against Porto in the final. And the icing on the cake, the small club from the west of Portugal can still move up to the first division if they succeed in the play-off against Casa Pia. If Torreense does not go up, then it will play the Europa League while being in the Portuguese second division. A crazy scenario which does not suit Benfica and Braga who will therefore have to go through the play-offs even though they thought they were directly qualified for the European competition.
