The future of Maxence Lacroix seems more and more to be written far from Crystal Palace. Arriving with the ambition of taking a step forward in the Premier League in the summer of 2024, the former VfL Wolfsburg player largely confirmed expectations thanks to a solid and remarkable second season across the Channel, with 54 matches played in all competitions (3 goals). But according to RMC Sportthe French defender, who became international during the year and selected by Didier Deschamps to play in the 2026 World Cup, should leave the Eagles.

Indeed, the 26-year-old should play his last match at Selhurst Park this Sunday, against Arsenal. His performances obviously did not leave several major European clubs indifferent. In England, several top-of-the-table teams are monitoring his situation very closely, like Chelsea and Liverpool. His modern profile has attracted many suitors, since interests also exist from Inter Milan, Naples, but also Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Maxence Lacroix would like to leave

On the player’s side, the thinking is already well advanced. Maxence Lacroix now wants to join a team engaged in the Champions League, a criterion that has become essential in choosing his future destination as Crystal Palace collapsed to 15th place in the Premier League this season. At 26, the French international believes he is ready to take a new step in his career after having had a series of convincing seasons with Palace. Under contract until 2029, the central defender will not be sold off.

London leaders are reportedly demanding at least 40 million euros to consider a sale this summer. A significant sum, but far from being dissuasive in the current context of the English market. Especially since Palace seems aware that it will be complicated to retain a player attracted by the Champions League and for whom no extension is currently on the agenda. It remains to be seen whether his rating will be able to rise in the event of a good performance with the Blues this summer in the United States, but Maxence Lacroix will have to have choices for his future.
