Present in the mixed zone at the PSG Campus after the session open to the media, Désiré Doué displayed a lot of serenity in the run-up to the Champions League final against Arsenal. Ten days before the European meeting, the Parisian attacking midfielder insisted on the state of mind of the group, between excitement, calm and the desire to take full advantage of this special moment. Asked about the evolution of PSG compared to last season, then about this long preparation without an official match before the final, the former Rennais above all highlighted the work carried out throughout the season and the good atmosphere which currently accompanies the Parisian group. “I don’t know (if we are better, editor’s note). It’s up to you to tell us, it’s up to you to judge, but in any case, we know that we worked very well this season. So. Today, we are in the Champions League final and we are focused. We know that we have a big deadline awaiting us. It’s going to be an exceptional match, I think. But here we are, we approach this with a lot of calm and we are serene.»

Following his speech, Doué then recalled the memories of the preparation experienced last year before the previous European final, explaining that he found the same collective excitement within the Parisian locker room today. “It is the coach who will lead us during training. But here we are, we are here to work very well and be ready on the big day. Remember last season? Not particularly a moment. I know we were all very happy, very excited obviously. But there we were, we were really happy during each training session and I found that there too. As soon as we came back today, it was really nice to see each other again. We want to work, we want to be 100% on the big day. So, we are really happy”.
