The list of 26 Blues selected by Didier Deschamps for the 2026 World Cup once again confirms the weight of Île-de-France in the formation of French football. Eleven selected players come from Ile-de-France clubs, proof of the richness of the regional pool and the work carried out in amateur structures and pre-training centers in Île-de-France. Also note that four players on the list play at Paris Saint-Germain with Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Lucas Hernandez.

Among these Ile-de-France residents are Mike Maignan, Ibrahima Konaté, William Saliba, N’Golo Kanté, Manu Koné, Adrien Rabiot, Warren Zaire-Emery, Maghnes Akliouche, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Kylian Mbappé and Marcus Thuram. Trained in particular in Bondy, Villiers-le-Bel, Aubervilliers, Torcy and even at Paris FC, these players illustrate the major influence of Ile-de-France football at the highest level in the world.
