This was the big worry on the PSG side this Sunday evening. In addition to the frustrating defeat against Paris FC (1-2), the reigning European champions were holding their breath over Ousmane Dembélé. Discomforted in the calf after a very discreet start to the match, the 29-year-old French international (58 caps, 7 goals) gave way to Gonçalo Ramos after only 27 minutes of play.

A premature exit which logically caused concern at all levels of the club, while PSG will challenge Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest to try to win a second Champions League in its history. Quickly, Luis Enrique nevertheless wanted to reassure the various observers. “ He’s fine. I hope nothing important », he confided into the broadcaster’s microphone before returning to the subject at a press conference. “Nothing to say about Ousmane Dembélé, we’ll see tomorrow”.

PSG wants to be reassuring

And PSG is now fixed. After carrying out additional examinations, Ousmane Dembélé simply suffered a slight contracture. A minimal injury which should therefore not call into question his participation in the final against the Gunners. “Released as a precaution during last night’s match against Paris FC due to muscular discomfort in his right calf, Ousmane Dembélé will remain in treatment over the coming days”indicates PSG this Monday in its medical update.

A reassuring communication which should, however, change nothing in the management of the Parisian club with its Ballon d’Or. As explained by Luis Enrique after the setback conceded to Jean-Bouin, the next few days will be mainly devoted to rest and no risks will be taken with the 29-year-old. PSG supporters can breathe easy: all the lights seem to be green for Dembouz before the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30.
