Emmanuel Grégoire has recognized, once again, the impossibility of organizing a popular fan zone in the capital for the PSG-Arsenal match.

D-12 before the big meeting! On May 30, Paris Saint-Germain will challenge Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest. The Parisians will try to achieve a historic back-to-back and lift a second Big Ears Cup, one year after their first European coronation.

But in Paris, PSG supporters will have to do without a fan zone “popular and festive”to the great regret of Emmanuel Grégoire. Guest on RTL this Monday morning, the mayor of Paris explained the reasons for this renunciation. “I expressed my wish to have a fan zone for popular and festive reasons. Afterwards, I am a pragmatic and reasonable person. The police chief and the Minister of the Interior told me: “We don’t know how to do it, there are too many events”he confided.

A fan zone at the Park?

The capital will indeed host several major events on the same evening: a concert by Aya Nakamura at the Stade de France, that of Damso at Paris La Défense Arena, as well as a show by rapper Bouss at the Accor Arena. All in the middle of the 2026 edition of Roland-Garros, contested at Porte d’Auteuil, in the immediate vicinity of the Parc des Princes.

Despite everything, Emmanuel Grégoire regrets the absence of a free gathering for Parisian supporters. “It’s a shame that there are only private events that deprive us of a public fan zone. But that’s how it is, we will work on it for the future. We will organize things as best as possible”he added. Before concluding: “I will be very mobilized that evening on the issue of public security. I want us to be able to party, but also for order to be maintained in the city. I hope that PSG will organize a very nice fan zone at the Parc des Princes. »
