Even if OM qualifies for the Europa League, Habib Beye’s fate seems sealed…

On Sunday, Olympique de Marseille will host Stade Rennais at the Orange Vélodrome, on the occasion of the 34th and final day of Ligue 1. Habib Beye will thus return to the club he coached at the start of the season.

The Marseille team can still hope to qualify for the European Cup. “From the moment the goal of the Champions League is no longer achievable, we focus on what is available to us: qualification for the Europa League,” warned the 48-year-old technician this Friday at a press conference.

The outcome of Sunday night’s match may have no bearing on Habib Beye’s future. Indeed, when he was appointed last February, the former defender’s mission was to finish on the podium in Ligue 1 and win the Coupe de France.

Beye to OM, it smells like the end

A failure across the board which risks costing him his place in the coming days. “My future doesn’t matter, he assures. My future is the match on Sunday, the two training sessions with my players to be at my best on Sunday. Then we will have time to talk about my situation. It’s not important today. »

According to Provence this Friday, Grégory Lorenzi, probable future sporting director of OM, would not be inclined to keep Habib Beye as coach. The latter could go back to the sports consultant box before trying to find a new sideline.
