Why did Raymond Domenech deliver the contents of his diary in the documentary “The bus, the Blues on strike”? Some people have an idea.

“Anelka who passed by without looking at me. This big idiot! (…) Gourcuff, but he’s an idiot. Mild autistic first and idiot second. »
Excerpts from the diary kept by Raymond Domenech during the 2010 World Cup were revealed in the Netflix documentary dedicated to the Knysna fiasco, The bus, the Blues on strike. But why did the former coach of the France team accept such words being revealed to the general public, even sixteen years after the episode?

Visibly bruised by the way in which the documentary was edited, Raymond Domenech reacted in a long press release published Thursday on his social networks. But observers logically wondered what could be the reasons for the choice of Estelle Denis’ former companion to reveal his writings of the time. Present at the microphone of Europe 1, Yoan Zerbit delivered his point of view.

The one who is one of the producers of the documentary tried to justify the choice of Raymond Domenech. “I think he’s enough of a specialist to come and commit suicide live. Even if it means leaving, you might as well leave in style. I still think that we feel in this notebook, in his diary, that there is a lot of humanity behind all that. A very dark humanity. This means that a coach is not a machine. He endures the pressure. »

Raymond Domenech, “very dark” writings

And the speaker continues. “I think this notebook can be a great lesson in what a great failure of leadership can be. That is to say, when we are not able to like the players we have selected, there is a small problem. » Yoan Zerbit added: “I think we showed a man under pressure, with a lot of anxiety, who manages his relationship with the media and the players very poorly. We feel that he needs to let go of some very dark things. Perhaps at that moment (…), he should have let go of the matter a little earlier. »

Raymond Domenech is obviously not the only one responsible for what many consider to be the biggest fiasco in the history of French international football. However, his new revelations will not help restore his image among the general public.
