There is a good chance that the future of Julian Alvarez will be one of the big issues of the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old Argentine striker – who will start at the World Cup with the Albiceleste – is therefore highly coveted. There is FC Barcelona, obviously, which has made him its priority objective for the summer transfer window. The reigning Spanish champion wants to strengthen his offensive sector and replace Robert Lewandowski, and the player trained at River Plate is by far the management’s favorite track.
FC Barcelona is now awaiting a gesture from Julian Alvarez, hoping that the Argentinian will officially position himself with the management of Atlético de Madrid to force a departure. Paris Saint-Germain would also be in the mix, as would Arsenal. The Spanish press also mentioned, as recently as Tuesday, a possible transfer to PSG at 150 million euros. And now this Thursday, the Iberian media are revealing a new burst of information.
Barça would no longer really be in the race
As indicated SportFC Barcelona is increasingly pessimistic about its chances of acquiring Alvarez. To the point where the Catalans are already working seriously on alternatives to the Argentinian, too expensive for his still quite sensitive finances. The Blaugranas have not completely given up, but they are aware that the trend is quite negative, especially since the player does not necessarily seem in a hurry to leave Madrid. He is close to Simeone and will not force his departure.
For his part, Mundo Deportivo specifies that Parisian interest is very serious. The newspaper indicates that PSG are ready to put well over 100 million euros on the table, while Barça are not ready to exceed this amount. Moreover, even with equal offers, Atlético much prefers to sell its star to the Parisians than to the Barcelonans, not wishing to strengthen a rival. Suffice to say that it smells good for PSG!
