José Mourinho continues to fuel speculation around his future, while his name is circulating insistently on the Real Madrid side for next summer. As the end of the season approaches and after the draw against Braga (2-2), the Portuguese technician was once again questioned about his contractual situation and his short-term intentions. Mourinho wanted to reframe the debate by recalling his initial position, in a very clear clarification: “on March 1, I said: I want to stay, respect my contract with Benfica, and if they want to extend it for two years, I will sign it without hesitation”.
But then his speech quickly took a completely different turn: “after everything that happened, and if the contract was still valid, would you sign it? No, because March 1 is March 1, and the last two weeks of the season are not for thinking about the future, nor for thinking about contracts. They are made to think about our mission: to achieve the miracle of finishing second. I decided not to listen to anyone, to concentrate on my work. There is a match against Estoril on Saturday. From Monday, I will be able to answer questions about my future”.
