Hansi Flick woke up with a sense of accomplishment. Indeed, the FC Barcelona coach is once again champion of Spain with the Blaugrana. Barça was able to celebrate this new trophy against the Madrid rival and begin a day of deserved rest. However, some didn’t have time to breathe. This is the case of the German technician who met with Catalan management to discuss his future this Monday. Through Pini Zahavi, his agent, the two parties have also reached an agreement in principle to extend the coach’s contract according to information from Mundo Deportivo.

They agreed on a one-year extension, pushing back the end of the commitment from 2027 to 2028. An additional optional year was also included, which could take the agreement until 2029 in the event of objectives being achieved, either national or European titles. Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco remain silent, but the trend is now towards an imminent formalization, even if no immediate signing is planned. Details need to be ironed out in Catalonia, while Flick wants to complete a perfect season.
